Families and kids
On Saturday, TrainTastic in Gulfport holds Brick or Treat, a LEGO-themed Halloween with building sessions led by a former LEGO Masters contestant, brick games with candy and prizes, trick-or-treating and a costume contest. Tickets are $30, with general admission for guests who skip the building.
Saturday morning, Lynn Meadows Discovery Center in Gulfport holds its Halloween Fun Festival with trick-or-treating, outdoor games, crafts and prizes. In Gautier, the public library's Fall-O-Ween Festival runs that morning too.
The Mary C in Ocean Springs turns spooky Friday and Saturday nights, 6–9 p.m., with games, treats and live music on the lawn (free) and a haunted house ($5). WXXV calls it Spooky C. Night; WLOX bills it as Spooky Springs at the Scary C.
Trunk-or-treats this weekend:
- Friday: the Gulf Coast YMCA in Ocean Springs (a quieter, sensory-friendly half hour starts at 5:30 p.m.) and Smokin' the Coast at Point Cadet Plaza in Biloxi, where the trunk-or-treat runs alongside a barbecue cook-off.
- Saturday: North Gautier Baptist Church's fall festival; two in Moss Point (the South Forty Coalition downtown and a community trunk-or-treat at 3504 Main St.); 1736 Pass Road in Biloxi; and the Historic Bradford House on Beach Boulevard in Biloxi. In Bay St. Louis, the firefighters hand out candy and hot dogs at a drive-through on Main Street while supplies last.
For pumpkins, Southern Promiseland Farm in Kiln is open both weekend days with a corn maze and hayrides. Lemoyne Boulevard Baptist Church in Biloxi keeps its pumpkin patch open through November 1.
Haunted houses
- Terror on the Coast in Gulfport is the Coast's biggest haunt: a 40,000-square-foot warehouse of movie-style sets and live actors, with food trucks and a bar on the midway. Its last nights are Friday and Saturday (it was also open Thursday). Tickets start at $25.
- Haunted Hangar at the Mississippi Aviation Heritage Museum on Pass Road has an alien theme and is meant to be a little scary, not gory. It runs 4–6:30 p.m. through Saturday, and $10 includes a hot dog, chips and a drink.
- Haunted Bradford House in Biloxi opens Saturday 6–9 p.m. for a $5 donation or canned food. The trunk-or-treat outside is free.
- The Mary C haunted house in Ocean Springs (above) is $5, Friday and Saturday.
Adults and nightlife
Saturday night is the big one. Paradise Pier in Biloxi hosts a Halloween party with DJ Zero Core from 6 to 9 p.m. On Friday, Patio 44 in downtown Biloxi serves a costume-friendly Halloween murder-mystery dinner (PG-13) at 7 p.m. And the bar on Terror on the Coast's midway is open for anyone who wants the atmosphere without the haunt.
Most bar and club costume parties are announced only on Facebook and Instagram, so check your favorite spot's page for its plans.
Casinos
- Beau Rivage: Emo Orchestra with The Spill Canvas plays the Beau Rivage Theatre on Halloween night. Tickets through Beau Rivage.
- Silver Slipper: live bands play the Stage Bar in Bay St. Louis Friday and Saturday, 7–11 p.m., free.
- IP Casino Resort Spa kicked off the weekend Thursday night with the costumed funk band Here Come the Mummies.
Pair a show with dinner on the strip and you have an easy grown-up Halloween. See our casino limo service.
Trick-or-treat hours
None of the Coast's cities has published official trick-or-treat hours this year, so most neighborhoods will go out around dusk on Saturday. The City of Biloxi posted safety tips for trick-or-treaters: carry a flashlight, stay on lit streets and sidewalks, and check treats at home.
Sunday and Monday
On Sunday afternoon, Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cathedral on Howard Avenue in Biloxi holds an All Souls Concert at 4 p.m. The day after the weekend, 100 Men Hall in Bay St. Louis celebrates Día de los Muertos on Monday, November 2, 6–8 p.m., with mariachi music, community altars and food. It's free.
Get home safe
With Halloween on a Saturday, expect heavy traffic, costumed walkers and full parking lots from Bay St. Louis to Ocean Springs. Daylight saving time also ends early Sunday morning, so the clocks fall back an hour. If your plans include drinks, don't drive.
That's where we come in. Our stretch limousine picks your group up together, drops you at the door of the party, haunt or casino, and gets everyone home. No designated driver, no circling for parking. Request a quote or call us at (228) 797-5466 to book your Halloween night.
